Re: Resolution for sanctuary city status

Thank you so much for sharing your concern about the negative impact this resolution has on our community. I am sorry that I could not prevent it from making it before the body but assure you that it will not pass.

Hello,

I am alarmed at the intolerance and ignorance being shown by some of the liberal residents of Homer. The proposal for sanctuary city status is a document that puts forth defiance of national law and custom based on personal prejudice and emotion. Please do not consider this resolution, and rather put forth plans that strengthen our laws and support our organized society.

The resolution references supposed attacks on women's rights. As a woman, I feel much more threatened by the intolerant stance of those supporting the resolution than I do by any sexual boasting done by the President in his past. I resent the liberal demand that all women must conform to their image.  These demands are truly un-American.

As council and mayor, you have serious local issues to deal with. While the hashtag universe has emotional appeal, that is not where things get done. Stay local and let the emotional static of discontents remain in the social media network.

Thank you for your time,
