Subject: Resolution 17

Dear Mayor Zak:

Please do NOT vote in favor of Resolution 17.

Despite all the "pretty" words about inclusion, it would establish Homer as a "Sanctuary City."  Welcoming illegals into Homer would place a huge educational and financial burden on our town, and could even cost us federal dollars.  We believe in the constitution, and we believe that our country is not our country without borders.  This is not based on religious nor racial bigotry. We are dear friends with a Muslim family--but he worked two jobs for five years before he became a United States citizen.  Then it took him 9 months to bring his wife and child here. Opening our borders would certainly do all legal immigrants a disservice.
