Mayor Zak and Council members:

The purpose of this email is to express our opposition to Resolution 17-019.

You were elected to conduct the business of the City of Homer. You were not elected to speak for the citizens of Homer on national political and social issues, especially through a resolution with very partisan origins which remain thinly veiled in the current version. The citizens of Homer have many opportunities to individually express their opinions on national matters through voting, communication with their elected representatives, and through the many forms of media.

Finally, if you feel compelled to pursue this resolution purporting to express the views of the people of Homer, it should be put before the voters to let them truly express themselves.
