It has been brought to my attention that Homer has city council members that would like Homer to become a Sanctuary City. Let me express my absolute and total opposition to this ludicrous plan. Not only is
it illegal but will only serve in the Federal Government withholding funds to the city. An action I hole hardily support should you pass this.
I currently do not live in Homer but I have in the past and I continue to have family there. Having my family impacted negatively to accommodate a few leftists within the city is an action that should be avoided
at all cost. As a lifelong Alaskan it angers me to have liberal minded individuals attempt to implement ideas more suited to CA or NY cities. If they wish to live in a sanctuary city may I suggest the move to one.
Mr. Mayor we are not talking about legal immigrants. We are talking about ILLEGALS that do not belong in this country. The flowery term “undocumented immigrants” is code for ILLEGAL. Illegals cost this country
a great deal in tax money and the added loss of federal funding, should the city approve this illegal action, will hurt everyone.
NO ONE is against legal immigration and the current administration as well as all those I know is a something that will be continued. I have experience both in this country as well as overseas with those looking
to immigrate into the US. Central Americans are one thing but Muslims are another. If you take the time to actually study Islam as I have you will realize Islam is not a religion but a Political Ideology thinly veiled as a religion. I could point you
to many who support this feeling. I have lived in Muslim countries almost 6 years of my life and I speak with some authority when it comes to Islam.
65% of all Muslims surveyed in America feel Sharia Law should be implemented in the US. Islam and Sharia are incompatible with our Constitution. I’ve worked with Muslims for years and trusted them only to
have them turn their weapons on those I worked with.
I understand we are not focusing solely on Muslims but any illegals. The key word here Mr. Mayor is ILLEGAL. They should be deported immediately along with any city council members voting to break the law.
I have read the proposed resolution and frankly want to laugh at the moronic document. The president, Donald Trump, although unpopular with the left wing is not what these socialist liberals are portraying him.
He has never stated a disregard for freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly or many of the other things he is accused of. These are the talking points of a liberal minded activist and not based in facts. As with the repealing of Obama
Care there is every intention to implement a new and better health care system not based on a lie.
I will not waist your time going over point-by-point of this cry baby proposed resolution but it is not based in fact and simply another way for leftist liberals to continue their attack on the legally elected
president of the United States.
If Homer is so steadfast in supporting the United States and Alaska constitutions they will not support this asinine resolution.
I can promise you that if the city adopts this illegal action that I and those I know in my family will immediately report any illegals to ICE and push for legal action be taken against those adding and abetting
them.
I strongly urge you to do the right thing. Do the legal thing and do NOT adopt this foolish resolution.
