Thank you,
I greatly appreciate your service to our community and for your clear analysis of the negative impact and disrespect for the community the makers of this resolution show in bringing this before the body.

Mr. Mayor,
As a 35 year Homer resident, I'd like to express to you my opinion about the proposed City of Homer ordinance to make Homer a "Sanctuary City". First of all, I am currently a City of Homer employee and
my opinion in no way reflects or represents the opinion of the Homer Police Department. However, I am concerned about this proposal and find it disrespectful to many other (legal) citizens of our community that are in constant need of our help. I am speaking
about the disabled veterans, the mentally ill that walk our streets and our Homer High School young adults that "couch surf" on a weekly basis. To not deal with their needs before even considering being a "Sanctuary City" is nothing short of irresponsible
and as I mentioned before, disrespectful. I have been in law enforcement most of my adult life here in the Homer/Anchor Point area and know first hand the struggles of our less fortunate members of our community. I urge you to reject this proposal and rekindle
the premise of helping those who are currently in need of our assistance.
