Re: Sanctuary City Proposal

Thank you so much for sharing your concern about the negative impact this resolution has on our community. I am sorry that I could not prevent it from making it before the body but assure you that it will not pass.

Something needs to be done about this and quickly! It can’t be allowed to come to a vote.  It is already on National News.  The Liberal Press is laying for stories like this.  If it dies with a 3 – 2 vote it will be interpreted dyeing because of a technicality and not  by ideals.  As I told Tom last night, the radio yesterday (in Anchorage) was a buzz.  Many, many people were calling in saying they would be fishing elsewhere this summer, no way will they come to Homer!  It was also mentioned on FOX News yesterday, as part of another story, but it has gone National.

I’m not sure, WRT Parliamentary Procedure, but it is my opinion the 3 Council Members that brought this up need to be excoriated.  Not in public, in Executive Session and then the resolution needs to be pulled.  We can then only hope for the best.  From the talk, if this goes any further we stand to lose   2 – 3 Million Dollars this summer.  Remember that’s Sales Tax  Revenue the City needs!

I can go on but hopefully you see the point.
