The council packet, including Resolution 17-019 is published on our website. You may access it at: http://www.cityofhomer-ak.gov/citycouncil/city-council-regular-meeting-150

Subject: Resistance City

As residents of Homer, we are appalled that the city council would even consider proposing Homer to be designated as a "Resistance City". Though the proposal doesn't actually say "Sanctuary City", that's exactly what it is. This would require our police and officials to disregard the LAW. We are totally opposed to this. Our community voted for President Trump and should abide by his requirement that we uphold our laws. What other laws should we ignore when we are unhappy with them? Where does that end? Who has the right to supersede the federal government?
