Subject: Just clearing this up

Mayor Zak and council members;

  I have read the amended resolution regarding 'inclusion.'  I am puzzled as to why we need this and I am against the resolution.  Homer is diverse and very tolerant.  This resolution does nothing but waste time and cause division, which the very resolution talks about resisting!

 Why not just take one line - "The City of Homer calls on all its citizens to stand against intolerance and resist expressions of hate toward any members of the community, and thus to set an example for the rest of the nation, demonstrating that Homer residents and Alaskans adhere to the principle of live-and-let-live."     Put it on official letterhead and hang it in city hall, or put a plaque up on top of the hill.   Easy, transparent, and left up to each individual.  No enforcement issues either.

 Thank you for your time.

Suzan Huber
