Dear Mayor Brian Zak and Homer City Council, I, Mark Edens, respectfully urge you to not support the “resist Trump” resolution. I believe that supporting this resolution will only serve to
promote division and upheaval in our city. I personally stand with the majority of Homer who voted against many of the failed policies of our nation’s previous administration. (I say “majority” on the basis of the fact that, of the voting activists of Homer, 56% of us voted for
Trump whereas 44% voted for Clinton). You will have the majority of voters applauding you when you do not affirm this Trump resistance movement. I was born and raised in Homer. My grandparents moved here in 1939. As a pioneer family, we have seen many transitions in our town and we support and applaud the right to diversities of opinion (tolerance) represented in Homer. However,
this resolution should be disqualified for many reasons; but primarily because it is a perfect example of “intolerance” toward the majority who disagree with it. Respectfully, Mark Edens P.O. Box 641 Homer, Ak 99603 (907)399-6223 |
